        Governor, Dapo Abiodun (MFR) has commiserated with the family of Tiamiyu over the death of their son Kazeem promising that the police personnel involved in the killing shall face the weight of law. Governor Abiodun made the promise this Tuesday while addressing the family of the deceased during a condolence visit to the family house in Sagamu. Governor Abiodun who described the incident as unfortunate said it caused the entire state a lot of pain, losing such rising star saying that since the incident happened the government has been working hard to investigate and consequently take drastic steps. On this day in 2010, Abdullahi Adamu, the former governor of Nasarawa State was arrested for allegedly embezzling  government money meant for public projects. Adamu was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly embezzling $100 million. EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity at the time, Mr. Femi Babafemi said, Adamu was arrested over fraudulent award of contracts mostly on capital project during his eight-year rule as governor of the State. He said the former governor would be arraigned in court after his interrogation. Gunmen suspected to be abductors have spiked Angwan Alkali, Mararaban Rido area, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis in Chikun Local government area, leaving two people dead. The mobsters who were believed to have stormed the residents at about 1:00AM on Thursday also abducted a 13-year- old girl. We collected that, the gunmen on arrival at the environment had headed for the resident of a prison warder. An eye witness disclosed that, while the suspected abductors were crumbling the door to the warder’s house, a neigbour alerted but no one could dare the hoodlums who executed without any hindrance. The  mobsters were said to have burst into the prison warder’s home and killed him before proceeding to the residence of the neighbour who was raising alarm. They were said to have broken into his neighbour’s house, killing him before abducting his 13 year old daughter. However, one of the mobsters was said to have been killed as they were leaving the area.

The federal government has released N386m to avert unexpected tumult of the deadly COVID-19 virus, beforehand known as coronavirus. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) received a sum of N315m while N71m was released to the port health services division of the ministry for improved surveillance at the ports of entry. Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Mr. Abdullahi Mashi, revealed these on Friday during a media parley in Abuja. According to him: “Intervention requests were made to the Presidency and because of the level of emergency, the Ministry of Finance agreed to the request. I can confirm to you that N71m was released to the port health services division of the ministry. Also, NCDC have been given N315m. Another request is still in the pipeline”.
